James said his “biggest low” is not having children and getting married, but he insisted he would put his career first if he could choose again.

He told Prima Magazine: “The biggest low of my career is that I’ve given up everything for it.

“Probably, because it’s made me who I am. And why does everybody have to follow the norm anyway?”

James is believed to have met his girlfriend Louise on the celebrity version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in 2010.

Their relationship first became public in 2016.

He tends to keep his love life out of the public eye and doesn’t post pictures of the pair on his public social media pages.

The chef opened up about why he chooses to keep his personal life away from the cameras, in a candid interview with the Daily Mirror.

James admitted he had been warned by a “high-profile” celebrity to enjoy his personal life behind closed doors.

Recalling the warning he received, he explained: “Don’t answer those questions. They all try – but you’ll get nothing.

“I always keep my public and private life separate.
