Men are still having more orgasms than women

If you thought the orgasm gap was a thing of the past, we are sadly here to tell you that this is not the case.

A new study from the sex toy company Lelo has revealed that men are still climaxing more often than women during sex, 66% compared to 43% respectively.

What’s more, almost one in 20 women have never orgasmed with a sexual partner.

The findings, which have been released for National Orgasm Day (that’s today) are the result of a survey with 4,000 heterosexual female and male participants from across the UK.

To make matters worse, not only do women climax less, but it appears many of their male partners are unaware that this is even happening, with majority of participants in relationships saying their partner orgasms 60% of the time.

This is still quite a low figure – but this could partially be due to some women not being physically able to climate during sex, rather than lack of trying by their partner.

More likely however, this is due to the orgasm gap.

What is the orgasm gap?

‘The orgasm gap refers to the stats that show that in heterosexual sexual experiences men orgasm more than women,’ explains Kate Moyle, sex and relationships expert at Lelo.

‘We also see that this gap doesn’t exist when women are having sexual experiences with women, which suggests that the gap is gendered.’

Kate explains that this is due to a variety of factors, such as lack of education, cultural differences and the fact that many people focus on intercourse to reach climax, where majority of women require clitoral stimulation to get off.

But why is the clitoris so often forgotten or ignored?

‘This is reinforced by what we see represented in many forms of sex online and in the media, where women appear to be orgasming from penetrative sex with little or no arousal,’ she says.

‘Commonly we also split up foreplay and sex, which puts the focus on “sex” as the main event, when if we reframe and think of it all as sex where the goal is pleasure then the clitoris, which is the main source of female pleasure with 8000 nerve endings would get more attention.

‘It’s not all about taking the focus off penetration, but ensuring that people are aware then when women are aroused, the clitoris becomes erect like the penis, and this means the internal structure can be stimulated and can create pleasurable sensations through intercourses, but arousal and being turned on is the key.’

‘The side effect of this lack of sex education is few of us feel confident with sexual communication, and being open about what feels good for us, and this is one of the key routes to creating change.’

Additional research by Lelo revealed three in 10 people fake their orgasms on a regular basis, with women more likely to do so, according to the study.

And only a third of those surveyed have spoken to their partner about their orgasms, or rather lack of orgasms – with men (73%) more likely to raise the issue, compared to women (56%).

If you’re missing out on orgasms, it’s time to speak up.

To help you on your way, we have created a guide on how to talk to your sexual partner about what you want in bed.

Go forth and climax.

Holidays still in chaos as flights face air corridor confusion

Holidays are still in chaos as flights face being axed due to continuing confusion over air corridors – with some airlines planning their schedules ‘hand to mouth’

  • The UK created ‘air corridors’ for residents to travel to some countries on holiday
  • However some flights could still be cancelled due to the continuing travel chaos
  • Several easyJet flights have cancelled or changed flights since yesterday

Sunseekers who rejoiced yesterday when the Government gave the green light to foreign holidays have been warned that flights could be cancelled because of the continuing travel chaos.

Confusion over air corridors and ever-changing international restrictions means airlines are now planning their schedules ‘hand to mouth’, putting thousands of trips at risk of abrupt changes.

Several easyJet customers have had their outgoing flights either cancelled or the time changed – and, as more firms open up other routes, the problem is set to continue.

Summer holidays abroad for UK citizens are still under threat despite the Government announcing several ‘air corridors’ to other nations this week

Airlines expert John Strickland, director of JLS Consulting, said: ‘A number of airlines are planning their schedules on a very short term, hand to mouth basis.

‘Several airlines have planned flights and put them on sale, only to find that Government policies and regulatory conditions in one country or another have meant that it is not possible to operate and have then had to cancel them and go back to square one.

‘I don’t believe airlines are deliberately or maliciously cancelling flights.’

Experts have claimed that Government dithering over the quarantine scheme has cost the beleaguered travel industry an estimated £5 billion.

The controversial measure has seen just two people fined since its introduction on June 8 but brought the struggling sector ‘to its knees’, critics said.

Several airlines, such as easyJet, are still cancelling or changing their flight times due to the confusion surrounding the air corridors

On Friday, Westminster finally published a list of 73 countries where people from England can visit without the need to isolate for two weeks on their return home.

However, it was branded ‘shambolic’ after a row with the devolved administrations in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland – while not all the overseas countries on the list are accepting UK visitors.

Lee Hunt, managing director of Debden Travel in Woodbridge, Suffolk, said the chaos meant tour operators were unable to plan and customers were reluctant to book.

He added: ‘The late market is now non-existent because of the confusion. Last year, we made £1.7 million from late bookings but now we’ve not got one.

‘In January, we were a business with a healthy bank balance and no debt. Now we’ve fallen to our knees.’

The global Covid-19 lockdown has already cost the UK travel industry £20 billion and last week easyJet and Airbus announced more than 3,700 jobs would be axed.

Kane Pirie, owner of Vivid Travel, told The Mail on Sunday that delays to lockdown and beginning a quarantine programme months after other nations had cost the UK dear.

He said: ‘We could have saved at least one out of the four months of disruption… if the Government had made better choices with less dithering.

The UK Government released a list (pictured) of several countries where UK citizens could travel to and not have to quarantine upon their return

The introduction of quarantine-free travel applies to people in England from Friday and the change covers most of Europe, but not Portugal – a popular destination.

Greece and St Lucia were named as quarantine-free places but UK arrivals are not welcome until later this month. Austria and Barbados want the production of a recent negative coronavirus test upon entry.

Experts said tourists need to check lists compiled by both the Foreign Office and the Department of Transport for restrictions.

Rory Boland, editor of Which? Travel, said: ‘The Government’s attempt to relax international travel restrictions has been a complete mess, leaving millions with no clarity over whether their holiday can go ahead and less chance of getting their money back if they can’t go.’

Portugal did not make the list of approved countries despite the UK having 28 times more deaths related to Covid-19. The move was made after an outbreak in Lisbon.

Kim Kardashian West Is Still Proving Her Kanye West Soulmate Theory

When it comes to celebrity couples, Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West, pretty much top the charts for the most notorious. Known informally as Kimye, Kim and Kanye have been married since 2014 and share four beautiful children together: North West (seven), Saint West (four), Chicago West (two), and Psalm West (one).

Though Kim and Kanye are not the most obvious of couples, they seem to be making things work. Kanye has been candid about the fact that he had his eyes on Kim long before she was willing to give him a chance. Kim, however, seemed to take a little more convincing. But, in past interviews, she has shared the turning point of when she knew Kanye was the one. Funnily enough, it had everything to do with sleeping patterns.

How Kim Kardashian West knew Kanye West was her soulmate

“I sleep with the heat on… 80 degrees and socks and a robe, every single night,” the 39-year-old said. ‘The first night I slept at Kanye’s house… I won’t say the date because I’ll get in trouble, but years and years ago, he slept with the heat on and socks, and I was like, ‘OMG, I met my soulmate,” Kim shared at the Create & Cultivate women’s conference back in 2018.

Happy Sunday

Though Kim may have been joking when it came to that being the exact moment when she knew Kanye was the one for her, she’s serious about always being warm and cozy. Perhaps that’s why she created an entire cozy collection for her brand, skims. Furthermore, Kim is always sharing that she and her husband love to be kept warm. In fact, a recent Instagram post proves that this is, in fact, the case.

The couple traveled to Wyoming with their kids

Recently, the West family (and a few of their friends) traveled to Wyoming to celebrate North’s seventh birthday. In true Kardashian form, they made sure that there were plenty of photo opportunities. The photos show the celebrities in various Western-inspired outfits. But, what stood out to fans was what Kim and Kanye were wearing.

In all the photos the couple sports long sleeves. In fact, they are both even wearing heavy leather jackets in some photos. As Summer is well underway, temperatures in Wyoming range from the mid-70s to the high-80s. Fans were baffled as to how Kim and Kanye weren’t melting in their leather jackets.

Fans can get over the billionaires’ attire

“I am now confused on what season we are in. Lol The looks are 🔥, but it’s HOT!!!!!” one fan wrote in the comments of Kim’s Instagram post. “That’s exactly what I thought I’m like oh my gosh isn’t a summer they must be roasting those heavy leather coats,” another person chimed in, responding to Kimye’s photos.

“Absolutely the looks are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 but very confusing lmfao I think Kim and Kanye naturally like to be physically warm – I heard in an interview that Kim felt she met her soulmate bc they both go to sleep with socks and the heat on, sis lives in Cali with the heat on. 🤯 They’re aliens,” yet another Instagram user wrote, citing the aforementioned interview. Clearly, Kim wasn’t kidding around about her and Kanye always bundling up for warmth. As they’ve been together for quite some time now, her soulmate theory seems to be holding up.

Caravan parks to still struggle during summer – as guests won't be spending money in bars

CARAVAN parks could still struggle during the summer season even if they open – as guests won't be spending any money there.

Hotels, B&Bs and caravan parks are able to open from today, along with campsites and tourist attractions following the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Many of the parks and campsites rely on guest spending, such as at the on-site restaurants, bars and arcades.

As these are likely to remain closed, it could leave caravan parks with little profit despite welcoming guests back.

NCC Director of Marketing, Jenny Summers told Sun Online Travel :"Not only did [caravan parks] lose their holiday bookings, but they lost their discretionary spend from visitors from bars, shops, restaurants, games areas.

"To some extent we don't know if this will still be lower across the rest of the summer as facilities will remain closed."

Campsites and parks have already announced the changes being introduced this summer.

Haven's 36 caravan parks across the UK will introduce timed slots for check-in, one-way paths and ordering food via an app.

Center Parcs will reopen from July 13 but swimming pools and spas will remain closed.

However, she is positive that Brits will be returning to campsites this summer: "A lot of people who have booked while it was closed will have changed their holidays for later and the year, so we are seeing high demand for July or August, absolutely."

She also said that many people are likely to try camping holidays for the first time, even if not for the main holiday, but a short break this year.

She added: "You can take your dogs, your kids, your grandparents – they are versatile holidays."

"They are deemed one of the safest holiday types at the moment and the industry is really keen to open and welcome visitors."

Butlin's has been forced to delay the opening date for its parks, blaming the government for a "lack of clarity" on safety guidelines.

In a message on the website, it explains: "Following last week's announcement from the Government on the continued closure of pools and live entertainment, we have been waiting for further clarification on when and how we can open these facilities for you.

"Sadly we haven’t had a further update, and with breaks fast-approaching, we have now extended the closure of our resorts to the 23rd July."

Meghan Markle Is Still the Most Charismatic Member of the Royal Family

For the most part, the British royal family is a well-respected institution. Queen Elizabeth II has been revered for being a steady force for the U.K. and the Commonwealth for over 70 years. Though the family has had its share of scandals, they’ve always been able to recover.

Despite all of this, because the family is so steeped in tradition, they are often perceived as uptight and stuffy. The royals have made certain changes over the decades. However, critics believe that they are out of touch with reality and stuck in the past.

When Meghan, Duchess of Sussex married into The Firm in 2018, she brought a modern spark to the royal family. Unfortunately, all of her ideas weren’t welcomed and she and Prince Harry eventually resigned from their roles. Though she is no longer a senior working royal, the duchess is still the most charismatic royal family member.

Meghan Markle has brilliant ideas

A lot has been said about Meghan and why she was never embraced by the British press or public. However, there are certain traits that everyone seems to agree that she processes. Meghan’s brilliance and work ethic are unmatched, so much so that the royal family was often taken aback.

“All of their IQs put together would not equal hers,” a royal aide revealed in the new book, Royals at War: The Untold Story of Harry and Meghan’s Shocking Split with the House of Windsor.

Unfortunately, the duchess’ wealth of knowledge and brilliant ideas weren’t always embraced by the royal family, especially when they clashed with tradition.  “Meghan is much better educated and more academic,” Lady Colin Campbell told The Independent. “Meghan is almost disturbingly self-confident… We must hope she realizes that her vision is not the only vision.”

The royal family didn’t know what to do with the ‘Markle Sparkle’

When Meghan and Prince Harry’s romance went public, no one could have anticipated the frenzy surrounding the self-made American actor. She was magnetic, interesting, and she effortlessly outshone everyone in the royal family. The royals was unprepared for the “Markle Sparkle.”

“While Kate’s support of her husband over the years has been admirable, it’s immediately clear how this model wouldn’t work for Meghan and Prince Harry,” SheKnows reports. “For one, Meghan came into the relationship with celebrity of her own, and a global fan base. Whether or not her intention had been to “outshine” Harry, the public was inevitably more interested in her actions than Harry’s at various turns — a reaction that was likely ill-received by the royal family.”

[Sound On 🔈] Today is International #DayoftheGirl, a day observed globally and created by the United Nations to acknowledge the gender inequality that exists worldwide. Be it lack of access to education, stigma surrounding MHM, forced child marriage, legal or medical inequality, or gender-based violence, there is a pressing need to support young women in their path to excellence. It is also a day to celebrate and encourage girls to know their value and to support them in taking action to grow into the women they wish to be. The Duchess of Sussex has been a long time advocate for women’s and girls rights and at the age of eleven campaigned against a sexist advertisement, which was then changed. No matter what age, or what background you have the power to make an impact. HRH recently shared a quote during a speech in Cape Town: “Visualize your highest self, and show up as her.” • To all of the young girls reading this today on International Day of the Girl, that quote is for you. Meghan Markle is still the most charismatic member of the royal family

Though she is no longer a senior working royal, Megan’s charisma can still be felt globally. “Meghan has the warmth and accessibility that Diana had, which are some of the qualities that Harry fell in love with when he met her,” royal expert Leslie Carroll told Express.

In fact, Meghan’s makeup artist Daniel Martin believes that her ability to make strangers feel like a close friend is what the royals needed. He told Entertainment Tonight,

I feel like what she represents is now. She is contemporary and people felt she resonates on so many levels because here is someone we all know, we all have a friend that looks like her, who is marrying into this establishment which was very one-way, one perspective.

Nets can still get the last laugh after bizarre 12 months

A year ago, they were not only the toast of the NBA but a model for the way things get built in professional sports now, the way foundations and cornerstones are laid, the way blueprints become blessings.

Starting with an Instagram message posted by Kevin Durant late in the afternoon of June 30 and stretching for most of a celebratory July, life had never been better for the Nets, not in their NBA incarnation, anyway, not since Julius Erving and his friends had tried to wrest the basketball city away while loitering in the burbs and brandishing a red, white and blue ball. Durant and Kyrie Irving were in the house, in the fold, and suddenly the Nets were in the unfamiliar position of feeding the new NBA zeitgeist.

“We knew,” Sean Marks said in Las Vegas a few weeks later, “what we were getting into.”

Maybe they did. Still: Nobody could truly forecast just how bizarre the next 12 months would be for the Nets. One prominent fly in the ointment was apparent right away: Durant wouldn’t be available at all in 2019-20 thanks to his blown Achilles. While Irving came with a clean bill of health, when he was limited to 20 games (during which the Nets went 8-12) thanks to a bum shoulder that wasn’t exactly a stunning development, either, given his history.

What would have been impossible to envision last July, though, were all the things, epic and subtle and everything in between, that’s littered the Nets’ landscape at the dawn of another July, in no particular order:

  • A global pandemic which has turned everyone’s world upside down.

  • The firing of coach Kenny Atkinson on March 7 after leading the Nets from the dregs to the playoffs last year and the brink of another berth this time, the details of which are a bit fuzzy but was clearly precipitated by the fact that Atkinson on one end and Durant, Irving and DeAndre Jordan on the other had stopped believing they could work together.
  • Injuries that cost Caris LeVert (having another fine season) 25 games and rookie Nic Claxton all but 15 games.
  • Forward Rodions Kurucs was arrested on domestic violence charges.
  • Wilson Chandler, a key offseason addition, missed the first 25 games thanks to a PED suspension, shot barely 40 percent in the 35 games in which he did play, then opted out of the Nets’ trip to the Orlando restart bubble — a stay that looks, by the day, to probably be the shortest of the 22 teams who will report there next week.
  • And, not least, the Nets have been bludgeoned worse than anyone by the coronavirus. Four players — Durant the only one whose name we know — tested positive early in the lockdown. This week, both Jordan and Spencer Dinwiddie — easily the Nets’ most reliable player this year at 20.6 points and 6.8 assists — revealed they, too, have COVID-19. Jordan is definitely out of Orlando; Dinwiddie wants to play but said he has actually shown symptoms (fever, chest tightness) and will almost certainly be forced out.

Other than that …

The Nets are one of what will almost certainly be a wealth of cautionary tales as sports tries to reintegrate into the world. There are others. The Phillies have so far been the hardest hit of the baseball teams by the virus, and the Nationals have already lost two players they expected to be part of the season — Ryan Zimmerman and Joe Ross — who decided to opt out instead.

The NHL had 15 of the first 250 players tested come back positive and we are still trying to determine at what percentage these things become problematic. Clemson has had 37 football players test positive and there is a cynical (if apocryphal, for now) take that has gotten a foothold in the sport that football factories like that wouldn’t mind seeing their players spike now, possibly develop herd immunity and be fully loaded for the season (if there’s a season).

The Nets were going to be a longshot to do anything in the bubble anyway since it was announced that both Irving and Durant would stay idle. The other dominoes that have fallen have merely ensured their stay inside will be as quick as possible. Most of their eggs were already carefully laid in baskets belonging to 2021, 2022 and 2023, anyway.

By then, depending on how this all shakes out, it may almost be funny how much quicksand they encountered these first 12 months, how many banana peels entangled their feet. If you are a Nets fan, you look forward to that laughter.

Zendaya Is Still Freaking Out About Meeting Beyoncé 4 Years Later

Zendaya appeared in Beyoncé’s Lemonade music video. That was in 2016, but you’ve got to admit it was a pretty big deal. Zendaya joined Halle Bailey, Amandla Stenberg, Serena Williams, Quvenzhane Wallis and many more Black women in Beyonce’s epic video. That’s not the sort of thing you get over.

RELATED: Zendaya Gives Beyoncé’s Verse in ‘Savage’ With Megan Thee Stallion Her Stamp of Approval

Zendaya was part of The Hollywood Reporter’s TV Drama Actress roundtable which they published on June 24. In conversation with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Helena Bonham Carter, Janelle Monáe and Rose Byrne, Zendaya spoke about the things that make her lose her cool, including Beyoncé.

Zendaya isn’t as cool as she appears

Zendaya stars in blockbusters like the Spider-Man films, The Greatest Showman and upcoming Dune, as well as HBO’s harrowing drama Euphoria. Although she may appear fearless, Zendaya said she’s always battling her own insecurities.

“Like a lot of artists, I’m my biggest critic,” she said. “Some of it was internal — not wanting to make a mistake or worrying that maybe I didn’t have the room to make a mistake and wanting to make the right next move.”

Zendaya said she worked through three levels of fear in between projects.

Being a young Disney actor, that’s one level, being a young Black woman is one level, and then being very hard on myself is another level” she said. “It’s also just a personal fear. I want to do a good job, and sometimes that can cause you to be fearful of things.”

The THR roundtable made Zendaya nervous too

Zendaya only spoke up a few times during the roundtable. She must have been rapt by her colleagues sharing their experiences. At the end, Zendaya admitted she was nervous in such company.

“I mean, this is exciting,” she said. “I’m proud of myself for speaking at all because I was very nervous.”

Beyoncé made her fangirl out

Even Zendaya’s father noticed she was not herself when she met Beyoncé.

“When I met Beyoncé, that was the only time I’ve ever acted like, real not cool,” she said. “I just lost my cool. My dad even said it because I was with him at the time and he was like, ‘Dude, you nerded out just then.’ And I was like, ‘I know, I’m being weird.’ Usually I can keep it together.”

Zendaya feels a responsibility to her fans

At 23, Zendaya has fans who have grown up with her since she was a teenager on Shake It Up. She takes her platform seriously.

“I have a heavy responsibility on my shoulders, but I’m appreciative for that because with that there’s a lot of good that I can do and I know who is watching,” she said. “Now, more than ever, specifically with Black Lives Matter and everything, I feel an obligation to make sure that I’m aware and putting out the right things and in line with organizers and people who are on the ground.”

Why Is Jimmy Kimmel Still Hosting the Emmys?

With the intense scrutiny on Jimmy Kimmel this week amid resurfaced images of him in blackface as well as in an audio recording using racially offensive slurs, his decision to “spend more time” with his family now makes sense.

It remains to be seen however, in light of this newly unearthed material, if the late-night show host will still be hosting the Emmy Awards ceremony – live or remotely – come September.

Kimmel’s initial reaction to his past ’embarrassing’ sketches

Jimmy Kimmel’s decision to spend more time with his family, an announcement he made earlier this month, must have been code for “laying low until the dust settles.”

The television personality has surely been bracing himself for the tidal wave that was coming. It arrived in recent weeks in the form of images of Kimmel from his 1990s/early 2000s Comedy Central program, The Man Show, wearing blackface to impersonate professional basketball star Karl Malone.

Then, on top of that, a 1996 Christmas album that featured Kimmel imitating Snoop Dogg’s voice while using highly offensive racial slurs also came to light.

Incredibly, the scrutiny on Kimmel doesn’t end there. This week also saw his embarrassingly tone-deaf reaction to actress Megan Fox on his program in 2009. In the clip, the actress recounted an incident of being sexualized at a very young age on a movie set. Instead of expressing empathy for what she endured, Kimmel joked about her ordeal.

Kimmel explains why his apology was delayed

Despite the resurfacing of Kimmel in blackface and the offensive Christmas album from his past making the rounds, Kimmel did not issue an immediate apology, instead announcing his decision to hunker down with his family.

“I’m taking the summer off to spend even more time with my family,” the comedian announced last week. “I’ve been doing this job for almost 18 years, I’ve done 3130 shows. There’s nothing wrong. My family’s healthy, I’m healthy; I just need a couple of months off. While I’m gone, a cavalcade of very kind and capable people will be filling in for me.”

Finally this week, Kimmel issued an apology, explaining why he hadn’t done so earlier.

“I have long been reluctant to address this,” Kimmel wrote in part, “as I knew doing so would be celebrated as a victory by those who equate apologies with weakness and cheer for leaders who use prejudice to divide us. That delay was a mistake. There is nothing more important to me than your respect, and I apologize to those who were genuinely hurt or offended by the makeup I wore or the words I spoke.”

Kevin Hart backed out of the 2019 Oscars after homophobic comments came to light – should Jimmy Kimmel do the same?

Comedian Kevin Hart was slated to host the 2019 Academy Awards ceremony – until homophobic comments made by him in 2011 surfaced.

Hart backed out, tweeting at that time, “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.”

Should Kimmel do the same? The comedian, scheduled to host the 72nd Emmy Awards on ABC Sept. 20, has hosted the event twice before, in 2012 and 2016.

It will have to be seen whether the public’s memories will be forgiving towards Kimmel in the three months leading up to the awards ceremony.

Or, if he will decide, as Hart did, to back out of the commitment in an effort to not be a distraction and instead allow the focus to be on the artists celebrated that evening.
