Money Heist season four ended on a brutal cliffhanger, which left the fate of the Professor (played by Alvaro Morte) up in the air. However, it now seems viewers will not have to wait too long to find out just what happened as the stars teased filming beginning in a new video for Netflix.

When is Money Heist season 5 out?

Fans have been awaiting any news about the new season of Money Heist after part four came to an end back in April.

Creator Álex Pina confirmed to Deadline earlier this year it would be coming, but there had been no official update from Netflix.

Now the show has finally been confirmed, with Netflix España releasing a video about filming and production beginning soon on the show.

Entitled ‘Volvemos’ which means ‘we return,’ the short video featured some of the biggest stars from Spain’s Netflix shows.

Accompanying the video, Netflix announced filming and productions are due to start once again following shutdowns after the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19.

They wrote: “We are: NERVOUS and EXCITED by all the productions that we started to shoot and create. We return.”

Among those coming back is Money Heist with four of the stars appearing in the video to announce what they’re looking forward to.

Professor star Alvaro Morte was shown looking at the trademark glasses his character wears in the show.

He said: “What excites me most about filming again is reuniting with all the people.”

Speaking about what excites her about returning, Lisbon star Itziar Ituño added: “It is knowing how the story ends.”

She then did her hair in the classic La Casa de Papel knot, which was sure to excite fans.

Najwa Nimri was also in the video, giving viewers a glimpse at the brutal Alicia Sierra as she shot a gun.

The star then said: “I am very excited to know that soon I will start to film.”

There was also a brief clip from one of the show’s directors Koldo Serra who was sitting with his season five notes.

He said: “It is very good to be here drawing plans and preparing everything, but what I need is action.”

Well, it seems it is all ready to go for the beginning of production on part five of the show.

An exact filming date has not yet been confirmed but the video seems to suggest filming will begin very soon.

Without any dates confirmed it is difficult to predict when exactly season five will be broadcast on Netflix.

However, it’s possible it could land as early as 2021 if filming begins soon.

When the series returns, viewers will be most excited to find out the Professor’s fate after his run-in with Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).

There’s also the question of how the gang will now escape from the Bank of Spain after they smuggled Lisbon (Itziar Ituño) inside.

Hopefully, all these questions will be answered when the show finally returns to screens again.

Money Heist seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix now.
