This Morning said goodbye to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in July 2020 and it was an emotional day for fans. The presenters will be taking an extended holiday away from the programme, with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes replacing them for the time being. When will Phil and Holly return to This Morning?
Holly and Phil said goodbye to the breakfast show on Friday, July 10, and this is their first real break since the coronavirus pandemic started.
The pair have been entertaining viewers from the studio, following social distancing rules, and they definitely deserve some time off.
They arrived for their final episode in an ice cream van, and they made some emotional speeches.
Holly and Phil will not be returning to the show until September 2020, and Holly thanked fans for their support.
She said on Instagram: “Thank you for staying with us over the last 109 days. The team have adapted and had plan a, b, c and d in place just in case…Some days we didn’t know If we’d have the content to fill the show, but somehow we always managed it and even had a few laughs along the way.
“You see us, but we feel that you are there with us, every single show… @thismorning holds a mirror up to life and reflects the mood of what we are all feeling.”

She also said a special thank you to her co-presenter Phil, saying he was “metaphorically holding her hand”.
The star reassured fans she and Phil will be back in a few months’ time, saying “see you in September”.
Ruth and Eamonn, who usually present the show on Friday mornings, will be taking over full time during the summer holidays.
They will present from Monday to Thursday, with guest presenters covering the Friday slot.
Phil said he would like to be able to give Holly a hug by the time they return to their posts in September.
The official This Morning Twitter account shared some of the funniest moments from this year.
They said: “We couldn’t wave @Schofe and @hollywills off on their summer break without a little look back at this series.
“This show is for you, so thank you for joining us over the past few months.”
Fans have shared their love for the presenters on Twitter, with one fan saying: “You have kept us sane, informed, amused and upbeat through the most impossible times – you will be missed. Have a safe and glorious holiday. Thank you.”
Another viewer said: “Thank you Phillip and Holly for making our mornings entertaining in these difficult times, you both deserve a long summer break. Won’t be watching from Monday, will miss you both until September.”

Fans have admired Holly and Phil’s friendship since they both started presenting the show in the early 2000s.
Phil joined the presenting team in 2002, with Holly joining a few years later in 2009.
Their friendship has landed the pair other co-presenting jobs, including Dancing on Ice.
One viewer said: “I’ve never cried so much. Watching that [best bits video] through really proves that @Schofe and @hollywills are seriously best friends.
“Have an amazing break because you deserve it! You will be missed thoroughly by all of us and thank you for everything you have done.”

For some TV presenters who have stayed on air since the coronavirus outbreak started, this is the first time they have been able to catch up with their families.
Good Morning Britain hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid will also be stepping back from their roles until September.
The next few months would have been the summer holidays for schoolchildren, and the hosts usually take some time off to be with their loved ones.
Their holiday is deserved, but fans cannot wait to see them back on screens in September 2020.
